Basic System Troubleshooting
If you have no "READY" light on your
system:
- At a keypad, determine which zone is
open.
- Check all doors and windows on that zone
to ensure that they are all closed.
- If the problem persists, Bypass the
faulty zone and arm your system.
- Call for repair or service
If your system is beeping:
- Check for any trouble indication at your
keypad.
- Follow the instructions in your user
manual to correct the problem, or silence the trouble sound
- Call for repairs if necessary
If there is no indication of trouble at the
keypad and the beeping sound does not come from the keypad:
- Check whether the sound is issuing from
the smoke detectors installed by your homebuilder.
- The batteries in these detectors should
be changed annually.
- Smoke detectors on your alarm system are
powered by the alarm system and do not contain batteries.
Emergency Shutdown Procedure
If you are unable to disarm or silence your
alarm, you must shut off all power to the system.
- First disconnect the electrical power to
the system by unplugging the transformer from the electrical outlet.
This may require a small flat tip screwdriver.
- Next, disconnect one of the leads to the
battery. The battery is inside the alarm control panel enclosure.
This may require a key to unlock the enclosure or a screwdriver to free the
enclosure door.
- Ensure that you know where the
transformer powering the alarm system and the alarm system enclosure are
located now, before you need to do anything. Ensure that you know the
location of any required screwdrivers or keys before you need them.
